The couple were married for three decades until Michael died 2001.Upon presenting the watch to presenter Jay Blades and Repair Shop horologist Steve Fletcher Dame Judi told them that her husband  absolutely treasured it. Steve then set about fixing the watch saying Obviously she was so in love with Michael and misses him so much still. When the item was restored to full working order, Dame Judi said  Oh my Thats sublime. And ticking. How brilliant. I Am very happy and full of admiration.

However it turns out that the Oscar winner  who was diagnosed with age related macular degeneration in 2012 and has been dealing with sight loss ever since  was having trouble getting a good look at the watch. Horologist Steve told the was looking at the watch and could nOt see the engraving we WOULd put on the back. So I loaned her my glasses and she said I can see it so well now.Steve then gifted Dame Judi two pairs of these special glasses which can magnify up to five times. He explained She could see everything about the watch and it was a lovely moment. She could use them as really powerful reading glasses. Sometimes the simple things work.
