It may not be an awards darling but Yellowstone just keeps getting more popular. The contemporary Western starring Kevin Costner finished its fourth season in early January scoring series high ratings and bolstering its reputation as one of the top rated shows on TV.
Its no wonder then that Yellowstone fans are eagerly awaiting the Season 5 premiere and finding out what happens next on the series. Costner plays John Dutton, the patriarch of a family that has its own issues which include battling assorted foes who want to seize control of land surrounding the Dutton family ranch in Montana.
At the end of Season 4 one of the major characters killed another character and the new season will undoubtedly see more ramifications from that especially since the strong willed Beth Dutton Kelly Reilly played a major role in how things went down. The cast includes not just Reilly as John Duttons daughter but also Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton Johns sons Cole Hauser as the ranch foreman, Rip Wheeler and Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater Chief of the Broken Rock Reservation, a shrewd leader who remains focused on will best serve the needs of his people.
While Yellowstone airs on the Paramount Network the show does not stream on the Paramount+ service. Because of deals made before Yellowstone emerged as a breakout hit the shows official streaming home is Peacock.But Paramount+ has since recognized what a goof that arrangement turned out to be and has made deals for several other shows from Yellowstone co creator Taylor Sheridan. Already streaming are The Mayor of Kingstown and 1883 a prequel to Yellowstone. Coming up is 1923 another Yellowstone prequel dealing with members of the Dutton family. That series which will star Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren is scheduled to premiere on Paramount+ in December.
