Sons of Anarchy actor Charlie Hunnam will star in Apple Tv+s newest series Shantaram. The 12 episode series is based on the best selling novel written by Gregory David Roberts and follows the thrilling epic adventure of one mans journey to redemption through a country that changes his life. Co created written and executive produced by Steve Lightfoot Shantaram will see Bharat Nalluri in the directors chair. Nalluri has previously worked on shows like the Doctor Who spin off series Torchwood and the podcast series The Orchard. His next project Last Days of the Space Age” has entered pre production and will be helmed by David Chidlow.
Shantaram will make its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on October 14. This will be followed by one new episode weekly until the final episode debuts on December 16. You can watch the trailer below:
Shantaram follows a fugitive named Lin Ford Hunnam looking to get lost in vibrant and chaotic 1980s Bombay. Alone in an unfamiliar city Lin struggles to avoid the trouble he has running from in this new place. After falling for an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Karla Lin must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with it.
