Ian McShane will reprise his role as Winston for the John Wick spinoff movie starring Ana de Armas .Set in the John Wick universe, McShane is set to star alongside No Time to Die is de Armas in the spinoff film titled Ballerina which began production on Monday via The Hollywood Reporter
Fans of the franchise will remember McShane as Winston manager of the Continental Hotel the hotel of choice for assassins. Starring in all three John Wick movies McShane is also set to reprise the role of Winston for the upcoming instalment John Wick Chapter 4 which is set for release in March 2023.Len Wiseman is on directing duties for the spinoff from writer Shay Hatten, which will follow an assassin known as the ballerina who is seeking revenge after her family is murdered by hitmen.
In a statement John Wick producer Basil Iwanyk said he was thrilled to have Ian McShane attached to the movie as they grow the John Wick universe.We are thrilled to have Ian McShane joining us for a pivotal role in Ballerina. He is been such an integral part of the franchise since the original John Wick. It is been fun to have him on this journey as the Wick universe expands said Iwanyk.
Recently, de Armas gave fans an exciting update regarding the spinoff when she revealed she had convinced the production team to hire Promising Young Woman writer Emerald Fennell.
It was really important for me to hire a female writer because to that point when I got involved in the project, it was only the director Len Wiseman and another guy Shay Hatten And I was like, That's not going to work de Armas said.
