Who’s in, who’s out on Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med

There were lots of changes to NBCs One Chicago dramas last season as they welcomed a handful of new players while also bidding farewell to beloved characters who had been part of the franchise for years.

At the start of the 2021-22 season it was Chicago Med that saw the most casting changes with a string of huge departures and introductions of new blood. Then there was Chicago Fire which suffered one of its most shocking departures yet this season with a series lead stepping away mid season paving the way for new faces to join the 51 family.

Finally there was Chicago PD. While the series has seen some casting shakeups over the years this season experienced a shockingly high body count in the finale.Who has leaving Chicago Fire? In direct contrast to the season 9 finale which saw the lives of several characters hang in the balance season 10 was more of a feel good affair. The Stellaride wedding was an opportunity for all of the characters to come together and enjoy each others company even the recently departed Casey  Jesse Spencer  who returned from Oregon with Brett  Kara Killmer.

Casey walking away from the series after the 200th episode was the biggest change of the season bar none. The actor made it clear that he wanted to spend more time with his family but as evidenced by his return in the finale he has open to keeping the character alive through cameos and guest appearances .ronically the other big departures during season 10 came from characters who were filling in for Casey and Brett. Lt. Jason Pelham  Brett Dalton was a promising newcomer who held down the 51 for a brief time but the decision to hand the reins over to Kidd  Miranda Rae Mayo made the most sense. Pelham relocated to another firehouse but he did make a brief appearance when a confused Gallo  Alberto Rosende was seeking advice.

The other departure was the much less charming Emma Jacobs  Caitlin Carver. She filled in for Brett while she was in Oregon, and she made it very clear that she was planning on blackmailing her way to the top of the medic food chain. Things came to a head in the finale when her selfish performance in the field led to her getting fired. It does not look like we will be seeing her again any time soon.

Who’s new to the Chicago Fire cast?

Thus far the only new addition to the Chicago Fire season 11 cast is actor Jake Lockett  who has joined the series in the role of Chicago firefighter Sam Carver. While little is known about Sam and how the character will enter the mix, it appears Locketts character will be a new member of Truck 81 as he has been seen on set rocking a Fire Department shirt. He has also been photographed frequently with Miranda Rae Mayo, who of course plays Truck 81 Lt. Stella Kidd.
