The Next Generation cast are back in action.
Star Trek: Picard has dropped another promo video for the upcoming season 3, but not only are we getting some actual footage this time around, but we've also got a premiere date. The Sir Patrick Stewart-led spin-off will be returning for its third and final season on February 16, which is quite a while off, but we're sure this trailer will give fans enough warm fuzzy feelings to keep them going until then.
In the footage, we see things going boom across the universe, and Jean-Luc Picard meeting up with his old friend Riker (Jonathan Frakes) in a bar, asking him for a ship but telling him that he isn't asking him to put himself in danger.Of course, Riker isn't buying that and tells his long-time comrade with a smile that The Next Generation crew would gladly follow him to the end.And then we get to see the rest of the TNG crew in action, including LeVar Burton's Geordi La Forge, Michael Dorn's Worf, Gates McFadden's Beverly Crusher, and Marina Sirtis' Deanna Troi. Of course, Jeri Ryan's Seven of Nine is back, and she gets to say "engage" this time around.
Interestingly, we know that Data actor Brent Spiner is back for season 3 as well, but he's absent from the trailer. Who could he be playing this time?Another thing we don't know about this season is who the villain will be, although we doubt it's Spiner again after season 2 (but you never know). Showrunner Terry Matalas did tease that "It is a new character. Played by someone you've seen a million times before. Someone I've always wanted to work with. And… wow. You're not ready."
