Law & Order crossover cuts important scene right after it airs

 Peacock streamers were sold short.

Law & Order's three-headed crossover removed a significant Sonny Carisi scene straight after it aired on NBC.Bringing together the characters from Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Organised Crime, last week's special dealt Detective Amanda Rollins a severe gunshot wound, so of course her worried boyfriend Carisi showed up shortly after.

Once he'd steadied his emotions, the Assistant District Attorney took off to the hospital to be with her.According to TVLine, streaming platform Peacock wiped Carisi's mournful moment from the episode by the next morning. There's method in the madness, though, as the order in which the epic crossover unfolded meant that this particular scene took place in Law & Order's season 22 premiere. So now, the episode switches from Olivia Benson questioning an officer who saw the shooting, to the commander consoling a teenager Rollins had been protecting.

On-air, the devastated Carisi walked onto the screen between those two interludes. In less insensitive news, Rollins's heart-wrenching situation has been on the cards since August, with actress Kelli Giddish announcing her exit as the character in a statement.Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life," she wrote. "I've been so fortunate to be a part of the Law & Order family for the last 12 years. There is simply no other character on TV like Rollins. She's grown and changed, and I have as well. I started on this show when I was in my late 20s and I'm grateful I got to spend so many of my adult years with Rollins in my life.

"I want to thank Dick Wolf, Mariska Hargitay, Warren Leight, Peter Jankowski, NBC, Universal Television, all of my co-stars, every single member on the crew and all the writers here for our incredible work together these last 12 years.I'm so excited to take all the things I have learned in my time on SVU and put them toward everything that's next to come."
