PBS Call the Midwife: Helen George's life away from Trixie Franklin from rise to fame, to family life with co-star and secret talent

 Helen George is adored for her role as Trixie Franklin but did you know she has another talent away from acting?Call the Midwife fans will know actor Helen George as the gorgeous Nurse Trixie Franklin in the much-loved period drama.





The midwife has been assisting the people of Poplar, East London since the very first episode aired back in 2012. Trixie is glamorous, and thoughtful and is a force to be reckoned with at Nonnatus House, although it hasn't all been smooth sailing as she's battled alcoholism and was a victim of sexual assault.


But thankfully, Trixie is now with the man of her dreams Matthew Aylward (Olly Rix) as the pair pledge to spend the rest of their lives together. Actress Helen George has played Trxie brilliantly for the past 13 years, so let's take a look at her life away from the BBC period drama.Helen was born on June 19, 1984, in Harborne, Birmingham which makes her 38 years old. Her mother was a social worker and her father was a political science professor.She attended the Royal Academy of Music after attending the Birmingham Royal Ballet as a junior associate.


Some of her early roles before Call the Midwife include Hollyoaks, Hotel Babylon, Doctors, and The Three Musketeers.Call the Midwife is the biggest role for Helen to date with the actress also starring in the short film The Monster, Red Dwarf, Nativity Rocks! and D.I. Ray.She also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 when she was partnered with Aljaž Skorjanec. The pair did well in the BBC competition and ended up coming in sixth place in the end.


Family Life

During series three of Call the Midwife, viewers saw Trixie catch the eye of Reverend Tom Hereward, played by Jack Ashton, while attending to expectant mothers who were serving time in prison.Eventually, Trixie and Tom fell in love, but their relationship didn't stand the test of time. Being a strong-willed woman meant Trixie couldn't adapt to life as a vicar's wife and heartbreakingly called time on their romance.
