Gwyneth Paltrow shared a rare snap of her son Moses on Saturday when she posted an Instagram tribute wishing him a happy 17th birthday. The lifestyle guru, 50 – who recently launched Goop Sex – treated her 8.3 million followers to a seaside picture of her and Moses enjoying a relaxing afternoon by the water.

Captioning the post, Paltrow wrote: 'Happy 17th birthday to the boy that fills my soul up every time I look at him. @mosesmartin you are the most exceptional, kind, loving human being. You keep us all laughing with your perfect impressions and you inspire us with your harmonies. I deeply adore you more than you could ever imagine! Love, mama'. Gwyneth's sweet shoutout to Moses – whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin – comes on the heels of him helping his A-list mother achieve victory in her highly-publicized ski crash trial that captivated pop culture these past few weeks. The resort where she allegedly hit Sanderson 'covered up her bad conduct’ because of her celebrity, it was claimed at the proceedings.

Attorneys for Sanderson – who attempted to sue Paltrow for $300,000 – accused Deer Valley Resort in Utah of pandering to the actress because she was a 'big spender’ who blew $8,980 on ski lessons for her children. They claimed in court that the resort gave a ‘wink and a nod’ to her hitting Mr Sanderson by saying it was his fault in a report from the crash scene. The allegations were denied by a manager for Deer Valley, and the ski instructor who was first on the scene.

The retired optometrist claimed he suffered four broken ribs and a permanent brain injury that has dramatically changed his personality for the worse.Moses, who was nine at the time of the incident, said he recalled seeing his mother on the ground for 'a while' and heard her swearing at Mr. Sanderson. His statement asserted: 'I saw my mother and a person behind her who had crashed. I was standing around (and) I realized it was my mother – when I skied over I heard my mom yelling at the guy.'
