The Repair Shop's Will Kirk details moment he had to 'walk away' from restoration

The Repair Shop's furniture restorer Will Kirk recently opened up on one sad moment during the filming of the BBC staple which left him needing to "walk away". Speaking on ITV's Lorraine on Wednesday, the expert explained he had to walk outside of the barn to compose himself after hearing a sad story from a young boy.

Scottish presenter Lorraine Kelly had Will on her show to discuss the upcoming new series of The Repair Shop.It is wonderful," she stated. "I mean, it's one of those things if you put it out there and you look at it on a piece of paper you think, 'That's not going to work. But then when it comes to life, it just works. So do you have a favourite moment? Do you have something that will stick in your mind?"

Will responded: "There's so many. When it comes to emotion, there was a young boy who came in with a table. And it was just a story about his relationship with his dad who passed away, and his gran was taking care of him.And it's the first time I actually had to walk away. I had to get outside the barn for about 20 minutes."

Will continued: "All of the crew were crying, apart from the boy who was just so strong. And it goes to show that if you relate to something, it means a lot to people."Well, that's what's so good about it," Lorraine summarised before she went on to explain why the beloved series remains so popular. It's obvious that we love to watch something being transformed and everybody loves seeing something transformed to its original beauty," she observed.
