hicago PD has a special episode in store. The episode titled “Deadlocked” will be the first directed by former cast member Jesse Lee Soffer. His stint as Halstead may have come to an end, but the talented artist remains a part of the franchise behind the camera.
The only problem is, fans won’t be getting the episode this week. There’s no new episode of PD on Wednesday, March 15. Instead there will be a rerun of an earlier season 10 episode in it its place. It’s unfortunate, given the number of long hiatuses in 2023, but the silver lining is that once the show resumes its normal schedule, it will air the rest of season 10 mostly uninterrupted.s Chicago PD new next week? (March 22)
What’s with the break? Well, most show breaks boil down to two things: production needs and filming. There is oftentimes a break around this time of year because the show needs to film the final episodes of the season, and make sure that they can air in succession by their schedule air dates.
Then there’s the need to make sure there are enough episodes to fill an entire season order. The number of episodes in a given season of Chicago PD has varied due to COVID, but generally, the show comes in at around 20 episodes per season. When the show does return, on Wednesday, March 22, there will be plenty of drama to resolve. The previous episode ended on a cliffhanger, and the tense promo suggests that there will be plenty of resolutions for Voight (Jason Beghe) and the rest of the cast.
