"Cobra Kai 6": this is the real reason for the cancellation of the series on Netflix

The series still does not have a confirmed date for the premiere of its sixth season, but the true reasons behind its cancellation were finally known. This is what its creator said.

In January 2023, Netflix announced the upcoming premiere of the sixth and final season of the " Cobra Kai " series, the spin-off of the "Karate Kid" franchise. After weeks of rumors about a possible intervention of the streaming giant in the cancellation of the program, the creator Jon Hurwitz himself came out to clarify the issue.

Through his social networks, Hurwitz clarified that it was he along with the 'showrunners' Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg who decided to end the story with Netflix. In the post, he also assured that this will not be the end of the “Miyagiverse”.

“Netflix did not tell us that (the sixth installment) was the last season. We told them it was the last season. We have always wanted to end 'Cobra Kai' in our own way and we are grateful to have the opportunity to do so. But that doesn't mean we're done with the Miyagiverse. We love this world ," the Twitter post read.In this way, Jon Hurwitz put an end to the rumors and, at the same time, anticipated that the universe of "Karate Kid" could expand; although he did not provide further details about it.

What will "Cobra Kai 6" be about?

Netflix has yet to share the official synopsis for the sixth season of “Cobra Kai”. However, we can presume that it will continue with the events of the last episode of the fifth installment.

In this chapter, a night of fighting broke out when Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) come with their new teacher's assistant, Chozen (Yuji Okumoto), who was one of the fighters in The Karate Kid, gather his students to expose Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith).
