Call the Midwife's Helen George explains "genuine fear" of being written out

You never have complete control.Call the Midwife's Helen George might well be the face of the series, having played her character Trixie from the start and featuring in some of the shows biggest storylines.

That doesn't mean that the actress thinks her position on the cast is guaranteed, however as she admitted that she does worry quite a bit that she might get written out of the show before it ends.Speaking to Radio Times, Helen said You never have complete control. Absolutely its a genuine fear. You never know. And they might just come to a point where they think  Do you know what we have got nothing more to say about your character. There nothing left to do with you. So you are off. It happens.

It feels as though there are plenty of storylines left for Trixie  as the latest series ended with her tying the knot with Matthew and the topic of how she does with balancing married life with her work at Nonnatus House to explore. Helens comments come just after it was confirmed that Leonie Elliot's fan-favourite character Lucille had left Call the Midwife. In series 12, Lucille took a break from work to protect her mental health and went to see her family in Jamaica.

Her husband Cyril confirmed she would found a job there in a mid series episode and went to visit her to see how she was doing. Then he revealed when Lucille did not attend Trixies wedding in the finale she was doing fine enjoying her new job and that it was  doing her good to be with her family suggesting her visit would be long term. Following the Call the Midwife series 12 finale, Leonie confirmed that she had indeed left the show via social media, leaving us at Digital Spy dismayed at the low key and sudden departure of such a fan favourite character.
