CALL The Midwife star Helen George has teased fans could be treated to seeing their favourite characters again on the show in the last ever episode.
The actress, famed for her role as Trixie in the BBC drama, has hinted that for the final ever episode of the long-running show, a series of famous faces would be brought back for a reunion.Helen admitted in a chat with the RadioTimes that plans on how to end the show has been discussed and that she would be very keen on a reunion with past characters from the show.
She said on the matter: "We've talked about that, wouldn't it be nice?"Like at the end of Titanic, all the characters come and it's just beautiful."It would have been amazing to have everybody.Teasing reunion plans ever further, she continued: "Look, you'll have to wait and see. But it'll be nice at some point – maybe at the end of the very, very last series – to get some of the old faces back, for sure."
If an epic final reunion was to occur however, fans would have to sit and wait patiently as the family favourite is due to remain on our screens in 2024 and 2025.This means that the earliest it would be likely to occur is either 2025, should bosses axe the show at the of its current contract, or 2026 if it is brought back for another go-around.One of the most recognisable faces from the past that the Beeb would be desperate to get thier hands on for a final showdown would be legendary sitcom star Miranda Hart.
