There are plenty of police procedurals out there but it’s arguably a really hard genre to perfect and get right. Of course, everybody will have their differing opinions and favorites, but nine times out of ten we bet The Rookie will earn a glowing mention.
Created by Alexi Hawley for ABC, the series began premiering back in 2018 and showcased Nathan Fillion as its central character, John Nolan, who is actually based on real-life Los Angeles Police Department officer William Norcross. He moved to Los Angeles in 2015 and joined the aforementioned department in his mid-40s.
Since 2018, audiences have been tuning in and growing attached to John and a wide range of other exciting characters.Fortunately, a new season began airing in September 2022. Episode 7 aired on Sunday, November 6th, so audiences essentially have a month-long hiatus to endure before they’re reunited with their favorite character from the series.Those who have been tuning in since season 1 will no doubt be familiar with the series having a break every once in a while. It allows the network to ensure they have enough installments to last the season and schedule.However, some breaks last longer than others.As of yet, an episode count for season 5 is yet to be announced but we predict there will be roughly 20, with the previous season offering 22 in total.
