Fifty Shades of Gray ending explained: how does the trilogy end?

In the "50 Shades of Gray" series, Ana falls in love with the unapproachable Christian. Does their love have a chance? We explain to you the end of the trilogy.

Hardly any material is as popular and controversial at the same time as the  "50 Shades" series  of books by British author EL James. Originally a vampire-free fan fiction of Stephenie Meyer's  "Twilight" series  , the story advanced to the inexperienced student Ana (Dakota Johnson), who is introduced to the erotic world of BDSM by millionaire entrepreneur Christian Gray (Jamie Dornan) and about his love has to fight, quickly becoming a bestseller and a much-discussed cultural phenomenon. You can find out how the story ends here.

Although Ana enjoys her erotic adventure with Christian and falls more and more in love with him, there are always arguments. Christian is extremely jealous, has Ana's cell phone located and even secretly follows her to a party. But his paranoia is not entirely unfounded: in the second film,  Dangerous Love , Ana is threatened by Christian's obsessive ex-girlfriend, who in the end only lets Christian calm her down. In the  third movie Ana's former boss Hyde (Eric Johnson) wants revenge on Christian: Christian and Hyde grew up in the same children's home, but Christian can't remember anything about it. When Christian was adopted by the wealthy Grays, Hyde vowed revenge and kidnapped Christian's sister (Rita Ora) to extort money.

The handover leads to a dramatic showdown: Hyde attacks the now pregnant Ana, who shoots him in self-defense. However, Christian and his security team have located Ana's cell phone and appear shortly thereafter to arrest Hyde. At the end of the trilogy, Ana and Christian are not only happily united, but also proud parents. In  "After,"  the inexperienced Tessa (Josephine Langford) falls in love with Bad Boy Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), who at first only sees her as some kind of erotic challenge, but then falls for her in earnest. A romance against all odds that, like Fifty Shades of Grey, spans three films. The films are available to rent and buy on  Amazon .
