Cobra Kai on Netflix: Ralph Macchio regrets not having defended this actress ousted from films

Better late than never. In his autobiography Waxing Out for the time unpublished in France Ralph Macchio expressed belated, but nevertheless sincere regrets towards the actress Elizabeth Shue. The latter indeed embodied Ali Mills, the love-interest of Daniel LaRusso in the first film Karate Kid.

Despite the huge success of the film, the American actress was not called back for the sequels, Karate Kid 2 and 3, unlike Ralph Macchio. And while Ali finally made his return to the franchise on the occasion of the third season of Cobra Kai, the latter wanted to express in writing his regrets for not having been more attentive to the situation experienced by his playing partner at the time of the events:

The return of Elizabeth Shue in Cobra Kai, the series following the Karate Kid films, thus made it possible to honor the character of Ali Mills, but also for Ralph Macchio to redeem himself in the eyes of the actress. A reunion described by the latter as emotional "for himself of course, but also for Elizabeth Shue as well as for William Zabka the interpreter of Johnny Lawrence.

The five seasons of Cobra Kai can now be found in full on the Netflix platform.
