Outlander's Caitriona Balfe announces 'break' from season 7 filming ‘Rest and relaxation’

 Outlander star Caitriona Balfe has confirmed she has taken a break from filming the seventh season of the hit Starz drama in a surprising update on social media.





Caitriona Balfe and her co star Sam Heughan have been hard at work in Scotland filming the highly anticipated seventh season of the popular historical drama Outlander. While fans desperately wait for the next episodes to continue the Frasers adventures on Starz Caitriona has taken to Instagram to confirm she has taken some well deserved time off. Irish actress Caitriona revealed she has taken a trip to England part way through the production of the seventh season of Outlander.


Filming got back underway in May of this year shortly after the shortened sixth season concluded with its eighth episode. Now the cast has made good progress on the next chapter for Frasers Ridge  Caitriona took to Instagram to confirm she had taken a break .Few days off work and a break in the Cotswolds  Nice to get some R&R she wrote in the caption. In the photo Caitriona leant against a black car looking casual yet stylish in trainers a grey cable knit jumper and loose fitting trousers.


Her followers were glad to see the Claire Fraser star getting some time off and replied with some appreciative messages down in the comments. Makeup artist Mary Wiles replied with love hearts and said Enjoy the break Cait.Her co star Sophie Skelton, who portrays Claires daughter Brianna responded  You beaut xxx. Earlier this year Caitriona treated her fans to a look behind the scenes at season six.


Celebrating World Outlander Day, she revealed a number of snaps of her co stars Sam  Lauren Lyle and John Bell as well as newcomers Mark Lewis Jones and Jessica Reynolds. Hopefully  it would not be too long before Outlander enthusiasts get their first sneak peek at the next season once filming wraps up in Scotland. Jamie Fraser star Sam confirmed season seven - which will consist of 16 episodes  was halfway through filming earlier this month so the series seems to be making good progress.
