Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi's Return Cements Cast & Crew's Love of Star Wars

Obi Wan Kenobi A Jedis Return is a heartfelt Star Wars documentary about the Disney+ series that highlights cast and crew love of the franchise.

One of the nicer things about Disney+ releases for Star Wars and Marvel Studios are the making of documentaries that arrive after the shows runs end. Ewan McGregors Obi Wan Kenobi is examined in Obi-Wan Kenobi A Jedis Return which pays due attention to McGregor and Hayden Christensen long awaited returns. It also does an excellent job of spotlighting the love of Star Wars that went into making the series.

So much attention paid to these new Lucasfilm releases is on the fan reaction particularly the negative part. Some of that is because the Star Wars fandom is generally impossible to please. Other times its old hatred rehashed anew such as racist harassment directed at Moses Ingram. So much of the discourse regarding Star Wars is about toxic fandom that it can be easy to forget that these stories mean something to people  not the least of whom are those working on the current generation of Star Wars stories.

Obi Wan Kenobi A Jedis Return makes clear that  love the show or hate it theres no denying it was made with love and reverence for the franchise. While the actors  especially McGregor and Christensen   say things typical of promoting the series those statements feel different in A Jedis Return. They are edited of course but viewers can tell the documentary crew just let the subjects talk about these roles and what they have meant to them. Christensens segment is particularly moving because of how the press and fans treated him the first time around. But with the benefit of time and hindsight only whats good about being a part of the Star Wars universe remains in his memory. Obi Wan Kenobi A Jedis Return is about celebrating all the hard work of the hundreds maybe thousands of people who worked to bring this story to life.
