A piece of concept art for Disney+s Obi Wan Kenobi gives Star Wars fans a closer look at an obscure Jedi Knight from the prequel trilogy.
An artist for Obi Wan Kenobi shared the concept art for an obscure Jedi whose origins can be traced back to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy.
ArtStation user Kouji Tajima revealed illustrations showcasing the character design for Jedi Knight Pablo Jill an alien Force user who was rumored to appear in Part IV of the Obi Wan Kenobi miniseries. The concept art includes several close up shots of the Jedis face from different angles along with another set posing Pablo Jill with his blue lightsaber which he was seen wielding in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.Pablo Jill was a male Ongree Force-user who was one of the Jedi Knights tasked with the rescue of Jedi Master Obi Kenobi Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker and Senator Padme Amidalla during the First Battle of Geonosis.
He survived the battle but was slain sometime around the Great Jedi Purge with Pablo Jills corpse later reportedly seen in the Obi Wan Kenobi series as one of the Jedi entombed within Fortress Inquisitorius. The Star Wars Expanded Universe provided another story with Pablo Jill serving as a Jedi General throughout the Clone Wars. He later spearheaded a mission to rescue Supreme Chancellor Palpatine during the Battle of Coruscant and was subsequently killed by General Grievous aboard the Separatist ship Invisible Hand.
The concept art for Pablo-Jill additionally confused some fans on social media. Some pointed out that the official Star Wars Databank claimed the Ongree Jedi seen in Obi Wan Kenobi Part IV was actually Jedi Master Coleman Kcaj who made his debut as a member of the Jedi Council in Star Wars: Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith. The differing claims between the artist and the Databank led some fans to hypothesize that Obi Wan Kenobis creators swapped Pablo Jill for Coleman Kcaj during filming or that Tajimas concept art was edited in the final cut.
