Marvel Teases A Devil Will Redeem Punisher (Not A God)

In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' Punisher, the god of war Ares fails to redeem Frank Castle from the Hand, resulting in the need for Daredevil While the literal god of war Ares attempted to redeem Punisher and bring him out from the grip of the Hand it's now being teased that it will be up to Daredevil to save Frank Castle.

While Matt Murdock may struggle with Castle's brutal tactics and disregard for human life, Daredevil and Punisher ultimately have a certain degree of respect for one another as street-level vigilantes seeking justice. Now, it may be up to Murdock to save Punisher from his new role as the Hands High Slayer In previous issues of Marvel's new Punisher series from Jason Aaron, Jesus Saíz and Paul Azaceta it's been revealed that the Hand has been watching Frank Castle ever since he was a troubled child, seeing his potential as a brutal killer and a future High Slayer in service to The Beast, their dark god. Promising to resurrect his wife and children

who were gunned down in front of him, Frank Castle agreed to help lead the Hand in their dark conquest. However, Punisher's new role came as a great concern to Ares, the Greek god of war.

In previous issues of Marvel's new Punisher series from Jason Aaron, Jesus Saíz and Paul Azaceta it's been revealed that the Hand has been watching Frank Castle ever since he was a troubled child, seeing his potential as a brutal killer and a future High Slayer in service to The Beast, their dark god.

Frank within an inch of his life though Castle is rescued by the Hand. However, Franks then discovers Daredevil waiting for him and wanting the same answers Ares did. While Ares failed to sway Frank, the odds are much stronger that Daredevil will be able to get through to Punisher, especially after Castle learns that the Hand has failed yet again to bring back his children, reviving them as grotesque and tortured versions they have to put down in order to start the process all over again. By teasing a new crossover at the end of this issue, it stands to reason that future chapters of Punisher will tie into Daredevil's current story where Murdock and Elektra are forming the Fist, a new order to eradicate the Hand once and for all.

While Punisher could certainly continue to be the Hand's champion against Daredevil and the Fist, it's already proven that Frank despises the methods of the Hand. The only thing keeping Castle in their service is his family, though their resurrections have only caused more pain. Here's hoping Daredevil can convince the Punisher to let go, allowing his family truly rest in peace. Punisher #6 is on sale now.
