Jeffrey Archer says Princess Diana would have found a way to reunite Harry and William

Jeffrey Archer, who was once a friend of the late Princess Diana believes she would have been invited to the Queen's funeral if she was still alive today.

Diana, the former Princess of Wales would have been  absolutely heartbroken over the reported feud between her two sons William and Harry and would have found a way to make them put their differences aside Mr Archer claimed. The author and once disgraced politician had struck up an unlikely friendship with the late princess reported.

Mr Archer said Diana would have been absolutely heartbroken about the rift between the princes  but if anyone could have brought them together it would have been her. There was an inch of cunning about her. She would have found a way.He added   She would have wanted to help no doubt about that. And of course her greatest distress would have been that they were not friends .Mr Archer said his friendship with Princess Diana started in 1991 at a charity concert and over the next six years  she had begun to rely on his counsel. Referring to their special relationship he outlined details of it for the first time in his latest novel   Next in Line.

While watching the Queens state funeral on TV Mr Archer said I watched him  Harry walk into the Abbey and wondered Do you miss all this? He added I can not see him and Meghan coming back to the UK as a couple. But I would be surprised if he would be happy to spend the next 60 years in California. The now Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussexs rift has been widely reported following Harry and Meghans exit from their royal duties and subsequent move to the US in 2020.

But the brothers have been spotted together on a number of occasions since one of which was to unveil a statue of their late mother, Princess Diana. The pair came together in July 2021 for a ceremony in Kensington Palaces redesigned Sunken Garden on what would have been their mothers 60th birthday. But since the unveiling, there seems to have been little in the way of progress in reconciling the relationship between the two princes.
