Grey's Anatomy Season 19 Release Date, News & Update: Kate Walsh Adds To A List Of Big Changes Coming To The Medical Drama.
Kate Walsh will make a comeback as Addison in Grey's Anatomy Season 19. A number of significant changes will be made to the long-running medical drama in its upcoming season. Most noticeably, Ellen Pompeo, who plays Meredith Grey, will leave her leading role and will only make limited appearances.Though it is unknown how lengthy her arc will be, reports indicate that she will return in the new season, and Walsh has already stated that she is excited to see where the character's journey leads her.Walsh is expected to return to Grey's Anatomy in the upcoming season, according to Variety. Addison's first appearance is currently scheduled for Season 19, Episode 3.
Although little is known about the Grey's Anatomy Season 19 plot or Addison's return, the latter's appearance will only appear in 8 episodes. Thus her presence might make Pompeo's absence less painful. In addition to series regular Scott Speedman and recurring cast members Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr., Walsh will also appear in future episodes of Grey's Anatomy.Walsh had already shown interest in playing the neonatal surgeon Dr. Addison Montgomery again, who was first introduced in the Season 1 finale. She remained a cast member up to the end of Season 3 when she left to star in the Grey's Anatomy spinoff Private Practice, which ended in 2013.
